The Importance of Original Language Bible Study

Most people are aware of the King James Version of the Bible. Truly the KJV Bible is a translation fit for a king. The KJV Bible is not the first complete English translation of the Bible. There are earlier English Bible translations. Among these are the Bishops' Bible and the Geneva Bible.
King James wanted his Bible to be popular: so he insisted that the names in the Bishops' Bible be used; the actual Hebrew names are not used. This and other rules for the translation of the KJV Bible can be found in the book: Wide as the Waters: The Story of the English Bible and the Revolution It Inspired (Benson Bobrick).
The making of the Bishops' Bible can be found in the book: The Day after Domesday (Jack P. Lewis).
The Strong's Bible Concordance is a reference book ordered by the words in the KJV Bible. A Strong's and KJV Bible can be used to start your study of the Bible, but a much faster method of study is to use the KJV Bible with Strong's Numbers available in the book: Annotated King James Version with Strong's Vital Word Numbers (ISBN 9798240961120).
Translation of Biblical Hebrew and Greek is a challenge. Some translations use the meanings of words, others try to use the English word that 'best' expresses the original word. Only by study of the original words can we understand the multitude and depth of meanings of the original Bible languages. Moreover, the meanings of English words have changed over time, and many dictionaries are abridged and sometimes lack the meaning of English words that appear in the Bible.
