Baptism in Water and Holy-spirit by Fire

Most Christians are baptized in Water, and many have some leader’s hands laid on them telling them to receive holy-spirit. But is that what the Bible really teaches? Due to the obscure English translation of the Bible the truth is hidden. However, even in our obscure English translations we can see that the Bible teaches something different than what main stream religions teach and practice. Please notice the following verses from the King James Version of the Bible.

Matthew 3:11 – I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Luke 3:16 – John answered, saying unto [them] all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

Both of the verses shown above are the words of John the Baptist speaking in regards to Jesus Christ.

When we trace the words back to the Hebrew original then we can see the following in both verses.

I (John) baptized you with water. He (Jesus Christ) shall baptize you with the holy-spirit by fire.

However, due the addition of vowel points to the Hebrew text during the middle ages we are blinded to what the English translation should say. But, by checking a Strong’s Hebrew Dictionary and ignoring the illegal vowel points we can find the truth of this matter.

Fire in Luke 3:16 is translated from the Greek word pur, listed in Strong’s as Greek word 4442.

4442 pur; a primary word; "fire" (literally or figuratively, specially, lightning):--fiery, fire.

This Greek word traces back to the Hebrew word ‘esh, listed in Strong’s as Hebrew word 784.

784 'esh; a primitive word; fire (literally or figuratively):-- burning, fiery, fire, flaming, hot.

Ignore the illegal vowel points and you can see that this Hebrew word is listed as Strong’s Hebrew word numbers 784 – 787. And Hebrew word 787 is shown in Strong’s Hebrew Dictionary, and means:
a foundation.

Foundation means the underlying principle or idea etc. on which something is based (page 345, Oxford American Dictionary, Heald Colleges Edition, © 1980 by Oxford University Press, Inc., ISBN 0-380-60772-7).

It is the duty of each Christian leader performing baptism to supply the new convert with a written copy of this principle, so that the newly baptized Christian can actually convert, and walk in newness of life.

Romans 6:4 – Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Acts 3:19-21 –
19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
20 And he shall send the holy-spirit from Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution1 of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

Notes 1:
Strong’s Greek word 605. The Greek word apokatastasis means reconstitution, i.e. recomposition, or reformation.
